Based on a need expressed by many area nonprofits, Montecito Bank & Trust expanded our financial literacy curriculum in 2013 to create a series of workshops designed specifically for adults. Each of the four workshops are available in English and Spanish, across Santa Barbara and Ventura counties. They can be tailored to fit the needs of the audience and presented lecture-style or participatory. Topics include: Banking 101, Making a Budget, Savings: Strategies and Addressing Challenges, and Understanding Credit and Protecting Your Identity.

Montecito Bank & Trust associates volunteer in local schools and nonprofits to offer these workshops to adults throughout our communities. To date, we’ve reached over 1,000 adults in Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties. In addition to the workshops led by Bank employees, we also provide a train-the trainer program where a Bank employee meets with and trains nonprofit staff on how to deliver these workshops and work with clients individually.

Organizations Montecito Bank & Trust has partnered with include: CALM, Community Solutions, Habitat for Humanity, Housing Authority of Santa Barbara, PathPoint, Santa Barbara Rescue Mission, Santa Barbara Unified School District, Transition House, and United Way of Santa Barbara County.
