Mr. Verkler was elected to the Board of Directors of Montecito Bank & Trust in 2001 when Valley Oaks National Bank was acquired. Mr. Verkler was a Founding Director of Valley Oaks National Bank. Mr. Verkler is the President of Santa Ynez Valley Hardware, Inc, a company located in Solvang, California that provides a unique blend of hardware, housewares and decorative goods, including a full-service garden center and an outdoor living section.

A Charter member of the Solvang Breakfast Rotary Club and a member of the Solvang Chamber of Commerce, when Ken is not working at the store or in his yard, he enjoys playing golf, a game he professes challenges him any opportunity it gets!

Throughout the history of the Bank, what are you most proud of?

"I am very proud of how our team responded to the pandemic and especially the PPP loans that helped our small businesses throughout Santa Barbara and Ventura counties. I continue to enjoy serving on the Board of the best community bank, it is a pleasure to witness the impact a dedicated and smart group of individuals can make in the communities we serve."
