Michelle Konoske

Ms. Konoske joined the Board of Directors in 2021. Michelle Konoske worked with Michael Towbes for 18 years, having joined The Towbes' Group in 1999 where she is currently Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer. In these roles, Michelle is responsible for operational controls, reporting procedures, and overseeing the entire accounting department, which includes the preparation of the monthly financial statements for more than 40 projects managed by The Towbes Group.

Michelle is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accounts. She also serves on the Finance Committee for the Granada, a premier performing arts center in Santa Barbara. A resident of Santa Barbara, Michelle enjoys spending time at the beach with her husband and their dogs or running in the hills above beautiful Santa Barbara.

Throughout the history of the Bank, what are you most proud of?

"I am grateful to have worked with Mr. Towbes and honored to still play integral roles at both of his companies, where each contributes to a cycle that fulfills some of our community's most essential needs – housing and banking. While it predates my time as a Director, the Bank's facilitating of over 3,000 PPP loans within our community is one of my proudest moments. Witnessing the Bank and its dedicated team swiftly respond to this urgent need amid one of the most challenging crises our nation and community have faced was nothing less than extraordinary. The Bank's performance during this time solidified it as a community leader and distinguished it from its competitors."
