Robert L. Skinner

Mr. Skinner joined the Board of Directors in 1996 and is currently the CEO of The Towbes Group. Rob previously served as the General Counsel and Chief Innovation Officer of Montecito Bank & Trust, was a founding principal of Towbes Capital Partners, a real estate investment vehicle formed in 2000, and Agility Capital, a venture lending company also formed in 2000. Prior to moving to Santa Barbara in 1997, Mr. Skinner was an attorney with the international law firm of White & Case, specializing in real estate transaction and bankruptcy work.

Mr. Skinner earned both his bachelor's degree in business administration and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Southern California. An active member of the community, Rob has served on several nonprofit boards and committees, including his current roles as a Trustee of The Towbes Foundation and Board member for the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, the Anti-Defamation League – Santa Barbara/Tri-Counties, the World Telehealth Initiative, and the Sustainable Change Alliance. Mr. Skinner served as a Trustee for the Santa Barbara Foundation from 2010 to 2019, and currently serves as a community member of the Foundation's Investment committee.
