We're looking for savings stars!

Montecito Bank & Trust is proud to participate in the American Bankers Association's Lights, Camera, Save! video contest. Contestants must be between 13 and 18 years of age as of October 1, 2025. The contest encourages youth to use video to communicate the value of saving and inspire others to become smart money managers. So, get those cell phones or video cameras out and get creative! We want to hear your unique messages about the importance of being responsible with money. Entering is easy!

Montecito Bank & Trust will select local 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners and will forward our 1st place winner to the National ABA Competition.

Tips for Entering

  1. Make sure your topic is relevant. Any personal finance themed entries will be accepted. Some ideas include:

    Saving Strategies

    Spending Responsibly

    Using Credit Wisely

    Saving for College

    Managing Debt

    Protecting Your Identity

    Retirement

  2. Create a video that shows the value of safe money management in a way that will appeal to other teens. Have fun and be creative! Videos will be judged according to the following weighted criteria:

    Message content and relevance towards theme (40%)

    Production value/presentation quality (30%)

    Creativity (30%)

  3. Check out the National ABA Finalists from 2024.

  4. All videos must be 30 seconds or less, use NO copyrighted material and do not include brand advertisement - remove clothing labels, sports teams, car emblems, store logos, and all other identifiers from your video. Videos must be submitted via YouTube link (no DVDs or flash drives accepted.)
