Fraud text alerts provide you with instant notification of suspicious activity on your debit card transactions. Sign up today to get real-time notifications so we can help prevent fraudulent activity on your account!

Steps

  1. Add or update your cell phone number by signing on to your online banking account or contact us at 805-963-7511 and ask to be enrolled.
  2. After adding a cell phone number to your account, you will automatically receive a Fraud Alerts activation text asking you to confirm your enrollment.

YES response followed by thank you message: Montecito Bank & Trust Fraud Alerts. Thank you for enrolling. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel. Message & Data Rates May Apply.
  3. The next time our system detects suspicious activity on your account, you will receive a text asking you to confirm if you attempted the transaction via text.

Reply YES or NO. YES response followed by Montecito Bank & Trust: Thank you for your response. We'll continue to monitor your card for unusual activity. Shows the screen of phone with suspicious activity message: Montecito Bank & Trust Fraud Alerts: Did you attempt transaction on debit card ending 1234 at Trader Joe's in CA for $163.42. Reply YES or NO. NO response followed by Montecito Bank & Trust: You've indicated an unauthorized charge on your card ending 1234. A temporary hold may have been placed on your card. Please call immediately 1-877-273-5740.
  4. If you reply “NO,” you will receive a text requesting that you call (877) 273-5740 to address the fraudulent transaction(s).
